LEGO

Lego Supper Dinner was an immersive, two-night event designed to reconnect guests with their creativity, slow down, and celebrate the inner child within us all. I crafted over 60 one-of-a-kind ceramic Lego plates that stacked for each guest, creating a playful and interactive dining experience. Alongside Luke Haverty of A Supper Series, we hosted 40 guests for an experience that had been in the making for over five months.

The LEGO stack was designed with intention, featuring distinct designs and carved shapes. The top section mimics the classic LEGO with six round semi-circles representing bites, followed by three shallow vertical grooves, and the final section showcasing a large rectangle with two semi-spheres holding the main course of finger food. Each dish and shape communicate with the others, evoking a sense of nostalgia and transporting guests back to their childhood.

As the evening unfolded, so did a story—a narrative woven through every detail, from the design of the Lego plates and the carefully curated courses by the wonderful Jake Goldberg, to the flowers done by Blxxm, and utensils by Fatima from Somewhere. Each element symbolized a different stage of the creative process, leading to the final stage: fulfillment. At the end of the meal, guests discovered a surprise “heart” hidden beneath their Lego plate, a ceramic piece that in the carved heart held in place the ice cream cone. It’s through this reconnection that we can embrace the most creative and playful versions of ourselves.
